And a very good weekend was had by all. At least, I’m pretty sure everyone emerged unscathed. Dr. and Mr. Taggart are scheduled to leave my humble abode this morning, and by all reports enjoyed restful slumber during their visit.
A few notes:
Mt. Vernon by candlelight is pretty nice – definitely well done, and worth the visit if you like that sort of thing and aren’t bored stiff by period actors as a result of 4.5 years of undergraduate education at Ye Merrye Olde College.
Also, it was stupidly cold, as significant portions of the tour are outside. Should one’s father wind up borrowing one’s mother’s furry hat, he will provide the basis for many a hilarious remark.
The Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit at the National Geographic Museum is not to be missed. GO. It’s worth it, I swear.
The best part? They got to see me play a playoff match. Which I won.
It was good to see them. 🙂
